All GC handlers are offered a loyalty discounted rate (approx.10%) on completion of three 6-week courses (or equivalent), with the same dog. A 6-week GC is reduced to £54. This does not apply to other courses or workshops offered by Pawsm8.
It is a requirement from the Kennel Club that a minimum of eight classes are attended before testing for each level after Puppy Foundation and some dogs/handlers take a little longer, particularly if they are ultra-sensitive, ultra lively or easily distracted (= normal)!! It would be detrimental to rush the important early training stage, therefore, testing is at the discretion of the Trainer. Silver is initially set at six weeks duration prior to testing, but may require twelve or more classes to reach the required standard. Gold often takes three or more six-week courses and dogs that test must be at least twelve months old. Testing is arranged with an outside assessor and included in the course fee. Test expenses for retesting are shared between the participants present that evening.
When booking, should you be aware of a date that you are not able to attend, please advise. A one-class no show discount can be deducted from the six-class course fee subject to prior discussion.
Should you have a second dog that you would like to train in GC classes, there is an immediate 10% discount available on your second dog's first GC course. Please enquire.
Please arrive ten minutes earlier than class start time to exercise and settle your dog. An area to the rear of the car park (Donyatt) and nearby grassland at Chardstock and All Saints, is available for general exercising use. Please pick up after your dogs and take away with you. Dogs must be on leads or flexi leads (with care) at all times. Please bring a bed for your dog to settle on, a variety of treats in a bait bag, a clicker, a target stick, a tug toy that your dog favours and a lanyard/whistle (ACME 210 1/2/ or 211 1/2). The classes will quickly become 'a fun time out with friends' for your dog and for you too! A well-trained and socialised dog is a joy to live with...
